I was born in Moscow in 1989. In 2010, I graduated from the MSPU, Faculty of Philology. In 2014, I began the master's program in Yiddish Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. My thesis, which I wrote under the supervision of Prof. Avrom Novershtern, was titled "Translations of Sholem Aleichem into Russian."
After graduating in 2016, I moved to Berlin and continued my studies by participating in research workshops and summer schools. In 2018, together with my friend and colleague, Arndt Beck, I first organized Yiddish events in Berlin. A year later, this initiative turned into the
yiddish.berlin project, which today unites Yiddish speakers in Berlin and provides a variety of cultural and educational activities.
In 2020, I was offered to teach Yiddish classes for the Yiddish Arts and Academics Association of North America. I taught a wide range of courses: shmues (conversational groups), regular classes for all levels, grammar workshops, creative writing in Yiddish, and reading circles. From September 2023, I was teaching Yiddish for VHS Hamburg, and from March 2024, also at the Kadimah Centre Melbourne. In July 2025, I taught Yiddish at the 3rd University of Vienna Summer School on Contemporary Hasidic Yiddish Language and Culture. At the same time, I started to teach courses for the Workers Circle.
Apart from teaching and event organization, I work as an independent researcher. I publish articles aimed at introducing Yiddish literature and culture to a broader audience.
I contribute to the Yiddish culture not only by pedagogical and research work, but also as a contemporary Yiddish author. Since 2022, I have published prose and poetry in Yiddish in magazines Yidishland, Afn shvel, Di goldene pave, and a newspaper Birobidzhaner shtern. I participate in Yiddish poetry readings online and offline.
My first collection of poetry in Yiddish,
Glozperl, was published in December 2025.
